The Creation - According to Greek mythology

THE CREATION

The Question, that has been unresolved, even the science has not been able to answer it. The Question that may have been in probably every human conceits is "How the universe came to be?". There are countless number of pristine literature that suggest the beginning of human life and almost all religions have also described in their respective books, the creation of the world. Every story is epic in its own way and these stories are may be a way to explain the unexplainable things.

The one book that talks about Greek mythology is "The Theogony of Hesiod" which was written by Hesiod - a Greek poet in 700 BC and in the epic dialect(ancient greek). Theogony is a Greek word and it means  "birth of the gods". This book describes the genesis of the world. It is a bit complicated since there are too many characters involved. But, it is a rollercoaster ride that will take you to a fantasy world that you would have never imagined before.
So let us begin this journey.

There are 5 ages of man: The Golden Age,the Silver age,the Bronze Age,the Heroic Age and the Iron Age.
The golden age is the age where the human life lived harmoniously with the Gods and the Titans. Titans were said to be ruling the earth. Now, what the hell are Titans you ask, I will come to that part later.

The time when the universe began to take shape is considered as the beginning of the Golden age. Some speculations suggest that only entity that would be present at the beginning of everything would be "time"- The Chronos(not to be confused with the Titan Cronus or Kronos). Chronos is the personification of time and it is considered that it is the progenitor of all. But in the Hesiod's literature, he proposes that all began with nothing but Chaos - a realm of unfathomable darkness, and the most powerful entity. Chaos, Chronos and other 8 entities are known as primordial entities that were present at the beginning of the world. But let's not get into this mess. I am still confused about everyone's role because there is no in-depth description and it will take forever to find the bottom of it. Just for example, Here is the family tree of the Greek gods. Just look at it. (Damn!)

Is it even a family tree.

It is suggested that the primordial entities were some form of personifications that affect every human's life and that can not be controlled by human beings. You can think of them as an entity with their own mind and a physical structure which is neither human nor animal OR somewhat a combination of them. They are even considered as primordial Gods or primary divine beings. When they interacted and out of them were born Gaea(earth), Tartarus(the underworld), Eros(love or Desire), Nyx(night) and Erebus(darkness). Out of these divine primordial offspring , the most important one is Gaea -  The mother earth.

Gaea was covered by the Uranus - the father sky and personification of heaven. Gaea was mother of everything on the earth, and from the effulgence of the heaven, she created 12 Titans, 3 Cyclops and 3 Hecatoncheires.
